Death Indexes
This is a very helpful  website that allows you to search many state and county sites that provide death records, indexes and obituaries.   
Birth and Marriage Records  
This site provides multiple listings to access birth and marriage records. Some of these links will just send you to paid subscriptions such as Ancestry.com, however, there are several links to free state and county organizations with access to actual records.

l love this website. I have found it easy to use and extremely helpful. The publisher of this site has transcribed cemetery records worldwide.

National Archives  
The National Archives is starting to provide more digitized records and indexes on line. Start by going to: search online. Then go to: access to archival databases.
American Ancestors
Set up a free limited access sign-in for Massachusetts vital records, New York wills and Irish immigrant advertisements. Free records are added daily!
DAR
Here's some exciting news: The DAR has made their record copies for American Patriots available to the public! This can be a valuable research tool. Go to: online research. Go to: genealogical research system. Conduct an ancestor or descendants search. When you find your ancestor, click on see ancestor record. You can download the record copy for $10.00 which should provide a list of sources for the ancestor and all descendants in the lineage.
NSSAR
The Sons of the American Revolution, like the DAR, are making their complete records holdings of American Patriots, searchable to the public.
Bureau Of Land Management
Federal land patents which were the initial transfer of land titles from the federal government to individuals which include homestead, military warrant patents and cash entry. Find your ancestor's record, print off a digital of the original patent and then locate the actual survey plats and field notes of the property.
Naturalization Records
Finding your ancestor's naturalization records can be difficult at best. There does not appear to be one centralized depository and the records are scattered in a variety of courts including circuit, state and county courts. This website has listed locations for each state, some on paid sites and some with free downloadable records and indexes.
On-Line Census
Easy to use site providing direct access to free on-line census records.
Brigham Young University
This wonderful site has three free search engines for records of interest to genealogists: Western States Marriages Records Index, Idaho State Death Index and Eastern Idaho Death Records.
Chronicling America
This newspaper site from the Library of Congress blows all the other commercial newspaper sites away! Search for your ancestors in old newspapers dating back to 1860.
Automated Genealogy
This Canadian site provides several years of indexes to Canadian census records.
Canadian County Atlas
Search for your ancestor's property record and then locate the property on a digital map. Beautiful!
Nova Scotia Genealogy
Find real vital records of your ancestors and download them to an e-file for only $10.25.
Digital Library on American Slavery
This site from the University of North Carolina covers 15 states and the District of Columbia. Locate wills, estate inventories and many other records from the years 1775 to 1867.
